4.5 stars, James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion 2009

"2007 Millamolong '26 Ponies' Chardonnay - "The Ashton family, foremost polo players for more than 80 years, have 28Ha of estate vineyards which produce this wine; fragrant white peach and nectarine fruit drives the bouquet and palate; it has atractive mouthfeel with balanced oak and acidity." 93 POINTS

Robert Stein Wines, Mudgee, NSW

"Oooo we have a good one here. A riesling from Mudgee, From Robert Stein. Wasn't sure what to expect but... This is a crackerjack wine. Personality and persistence plus. Lime and lemon sorbet wtih spicy, talc-like edges. Almost has seom twiggy elements. There's a bit of texture to it too. But mostly it's the power and length that doest it for me. Impressive wine. 94 Points." Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, Oct 2, 2009

"What a delicious rielsing, already a deserved winner of two trophies. Pale hued, it has a very powerful flowery riesling fragrance and an intense, driving palate softened by a little sweetness. It's bright, vital and grapy with a juicy but focused, taut, nervy palate of great intensity and length. Now to 10 years. 94 points." Huon Hooke, Sydney Morning Herald, October 6, 2009 Readership: 212,700

"@fixstjames Thistle Hill riesling is a ripper, as is the Robert Stein 09. Mudgee riesing, who'd a thunk it?" @winsordobbin, Twitter October 2, 2009

Chardonnay 2006: Bargain of the Week
, Huon Hooke, 28 Oct 2008

Lerida Estate, Lake George, NSW

Review - Huon Hooke - "Potpourri aromas, typical of the grape. Good sweeter styel, balanced by tangy acidity. 90/100" Feb 2009

Review - Grant Dodd - "Fine wine for Canberra? You'd better believe it. Canberra is increasingly on the radar as a wine region on the up, and little wonder when crisp, savoury, pear-like Pinot Gris like this hits the sleves." Feb 2009

Lerida Estate Lake George Shiraz Viognier 2006: "The nose requires concentration as it’s broad to start then nuances reveal themselves and all are interesting but hard to define. It’s as complex on the palate as it is on the nose - it really is a wine to sip, take time over and contemplate. 94 points and I think worth its $60." Tony Keys, The Key Report, 16 April 2009
